Stepping Stool

Maybe my life purpose is not to be "true to myself"...to be the happiest, greatest, most successful person I can be. Maybe the world has lied… Instead, maybe my life purpose is to serve as a stepping stool for others. If so, then Lord let me be a stepping stool in your kingdom...

Let me be stepped on that others might be lifted up.

Let me be crushed that others might ascend into glory.

Let me be ever forgiving, ever taking the hit and not hitting back.

Let me be wronged and not be avenged.

Let me be cheated and not repaid.

Let me be betrayed and not remembered.

Let me surrender my happiness if it means others might find true happiness...

If only God…if only you might use this stepping stool for your glory.

Then let me be poor that others might be rich.

Let me carry burdens not my own that others might find relief.

Let me be abandoned if it brings others near to you.

Let me be mocked if it leads to their honor.

Let me lose sleep if it leads to their rest.

Let me endure sickness if it leads to their healing.

If only God you might use my sorrow to bring many into glory, then God this pain is worth it all. Let me decrease so that you might increase. Let me disappear so that others might find you through me. Let me endure all sufferings if it means I might be like my Lord and share in his sufferings. In you Jesus all my loss is gain, all my pain is joy, for your glory is my treasure, and your love sustains me. You who work all evils for good and turn shame into glory, let me be a stepping stool for your kingdom and for your glory.
